ESA Letter Cost

Two things set the price: whether you need an ESA letter or a psychiatric service dog letter, and how many pets it names. You pay once. There is no subscription and no renewal fee.

ESA Letter vs PSD Letter

A PSD letter only makes sense if your dog is already trained to do specific tasks that help with your condition. If it isn't, the ESA letter is the honest pick, and it costs less.

Why Cheap ESA Letters Cost You More

Your landlord is allowed to call the person who signed your letter. When they call and find no real person, no license, and no record of a visit, your request fails. And you already paid.

The lowest an honest price can go is the cost of someone's time. Somebody licensed in your state has to read your form, meet with you, make a call, and put their license number on the result. Anything cheaper than that is a PDF template, not a real opinion.

If you already see a therapist, ask them first. Someone who has treated you for months writes a stronger letter than any website can, and insurance may cover the visit.

Questions

ESA Letter Cost FAQs

Why does a PSD letter cost more?

The visit takes longer. The letter has to cover your disability and the specific tasks your dog is trained to do, so there are more questions to ask and more to write down.

When do you charge me?

Only after a licensed provider has approved you. You complete free screening and your visit without paying anything. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal. One rewrite inside 12 months is free.

Do you charge per pet?

No. The price depends on how many pets the letter names. There are two ESA tiers and two PSD tiers, and no add-on fees inside a tier.

What is not covered by the price?

Ongoing therapy, rush shipping for a paper copy, and anything your landlord charges on their own. Under the Fair Housing Act, a landlord usually can't charge a pet fee or pet deposit for a support animal. You still pay for any real damage.

Is it cheaper to ask my own therapist?

Often, yes, if you already have one. Someone who has treated you for months writes a stronger letter than any service can, and insurance may cover the visit, so you might only pay a copay. Ask them first. We are here for people who don't have a therapist or whose therapist won't write letters.

Screening is free and takes about five minutes. You'll see the price and the wait time for your state up front, and we only charge after a provider approves you.
